WHY Mutts & Mats at Spirit?

The owners of Spirit, Dana & Torrey, have been lifelong animal advocates. In fact, Dana has had a career in animal welfare for the past 20 years. You'll see their beloved (rescued) dog Armani constantly at the studios, welcoming everyone with a bark. Dana & Torrey's dream was for their small business to be able to give back to animal welfare. And that's when Mutts & Mats was born!

Come join us at Spirit Barre for Mutts & Mats, our newest class that’s all about building strength and flexibility, with a side of puppy love! This all-levels class combines the best of pilates-inspired moves and deep stretches to help you feel stronger and more centered—plus, you’ll get to hang out with adorable, adoptable pups afterward!

The class is 45 minutes of invigorating movement, followed by 15 minutes of snuggling up with some sweet puppies. It’s the perfect balance of self-care and puppy cuddles!

A portion of the proceeds benefits our favorite puppy rescue, so your practice helps pups in need. You might even meet your new best friend!

What Makes Our Animal Rescue Classes Different?

At Spirit Barre we partner with local animal rescue groups & shelters in Southern California. Rescued animals come from locations ranging from Mexico to Hawaii and need to find their forever homes. Our animal rescue yoga classes are gentle and allow for the animals to comfortably socialize with their future families. Staff members and volunteers from each rescue organization are present to care for the animals' needs throughout every class, ensuring that animals are always both mentally and physically at ease. Classes are air conditioned, making the environment suitable for animals regardless of the weather. A portion of proceeds from every class are donated back to our animal rescue partners and we have ongoing food & supplies drives in our studio lobbies so that the community can help our rescue partners constantly.
